Ryan Mahoney serves as communications director for the International Republican Institute. In this role, Ryan leads global communications efforts to promote IRI’s mission to advance democracy worldwide.
Ryan brings over fifteen years of communications, political process, political party and organizing expertise to the external affairs department. Prior to joining IRI, he spent nearly a decade in leadership positions at the Republican National Committee (RNC). Most recently as a senior advisor, and prior to that he served as the communications director for the party. In his various roles Ryan has extensive experience leading and executing countless local and national media campaigns, from candidate and issue advocacy, to spearheading communications efforts for Supreme Court confirmation hearings and national convention site selection process.
Ryan is from the Washington DC area and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a degree in political science.
